Make Your Facebook Ads Work With The New Algorithm…

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, it’s been impossible not to see the panic over Facebook’s new algorithm.

“You can expect to see more from your friends, family and groups,” Zuck said in the announcement. “You’ll see less public content like posts from businesses, brands, and media.”

This will obviously affect your Facebook ads as Facebook will favour posts that have a high engagement level and that are meaningful.

So what can you do?

Create highly engaging posts that the new Facebook algorithms will LOVE! My clients also saw a drop in their Facebook ads but with a few changes, we are now back on track and here’s how!

Facebook Polls

Ok, so I admit I’m a big fan of polls after seeing a massive surge in engagement when we tested them out on Twitter.

But this time we created Facebook polls to increase our engagement yet still draw attention to our products. We also paid attention to any special days such as #nationalpopcornday and created fun content that received a lot of comments and engagement.

You can relate polls to a number of things.

  • Parenting products – A poll on which baby stroller they like the best using your products!
  • Virtual Assistant company – A poll on what they would most like to outsource and write back to any comments with your solutions!
  • Shoe Company – A poll on shoes with one being a heel and another being flats and ask them what are they most likely to wearing on Friday night.

You get the idea, we want to make it as fun as possible and the more comments, the increase in your organic reach!

Engaging Content

Try to ask engaging questions that will give you more than a yes or no response. Once again we used a hashtag that was trending for the day #nationaltoastday.

You may wonder how on earth this could relate to your business but people primarily come to Facebook to talk to freinds& family, NOT to be sold too so if you make your content fun and engaging, it’s more likely to receive likes and then be seen by others!

Post Facebook Stories

We noticed how well our Instagram stories were doing so decided to really up our Facebook story game! Already we have noticed an increase in page views and page likes!

Go Live

Creating live short videos are a BRILLIANT way to increase views and increase your organic Facebook reach! Think about creating small live videos on topics such as;

  • Behind the scenes
  • Networking events
  • New product launches
  • Creating and designing products
  • Manufacturing of products
  • Cool things you see out and about, street art, amazing pics of breakfasts or lunch

The most important thing is to be real! Hard week? Tell people you’re looking forward to Friday, make yourself human, not just another brand that is trying to sell something!

Ok so here were some quick tips, any questions comment below and I will get back to you!

3 FREE Apps To Manage Your Social Media!

I’m a big fan of any app that can help me to manage multiple social media accounts, and especially if they are free!

I’ve been testing out a few Apps the last year and here are my top four to manage your social media accounts!

3 FREE Apps To Manage Your Social Media

Post Apphi – Starting with my favourite first, this is an App that lets you schedule your Instagram posts. I’ve come across a few apps in the past that were meant to be schedulers however, they would sen me a reminder to post the Instagram pic when rather than do it automatically so no really a scheduler at all!

Post Apphi also allows you to see the layout in grid format of all your future posts so you can move them around until you get it right, then schedule it!

It used to be completely free but now you are allowed 10 free post schedules a month and you will have to pay to get extra ones. If you are a small business that does not post everyday like me, the free option should fit you perfectly.

Followers Assistant – It’s always better to have a few hundred followers than who you are following on your Instagram and this is where this handy free Iapp comes in!

Followers Assistant will search through your entire following in a matter of minutes and then tell you how many are unfollowing you. Best of all, it allows you to unfollow them in bulk of up to 200 at a time so you can just sit back while the App does the work!

It also allows you to see who you are not following and who RECENTLY unfollowed you.

Followers + – This is a really handy Twitter tool to see who has unfollowed you and also to unfollow them all.

A really handy tool that allows you to unfollow your unfollows with a tap of a button. I usually aim for around 50 every few days.

You can also upgrade and manage multiple accounts at once.

Ok, so here are just a few handy Apps I have been using for my social media accounts. Hope this helps!

My Top 4 Google Chrome Extensions!

I’m always looking for time-saving but FREE extensions to help me manage my social media channels better. Here are the top 4 I couldn’t live without!

Hootsuite Add-On

This life-saving add-on works alongside Hootsuite and allows you to save any content that you may find on the internet and add it to your Hootsuite scheduler.

This is great to use for current tech/ marketing news that may be on a website rather than in a twitter feed but is a trending topic you wish to share.

You can download the free Hootsuite share page icon here.

Everliker

This has to be one of my favourite free tools for Instagram! Everliker is an Instagram auto-liker that will like photos on Instagram according to your chosen hashtags. It will also only follow for a certain amount of hours before it goes into sleep mood for the night, just like you would!

Mass Follower

Mass follower is an incredibly useful Twitter tool. It will follow and unfollow in bulk with a click of a button until you unpause it again. Generally speaking, it’s best not to follow more than 50 a day.

Download it here.

Moz Bar

According to Moz, Domain Authority (DA) is a search engine ranking score developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank on search engine result pages (SERPs). A Domain Authority score ranges from one to 100, with higher scores corresponding to a greater ability to rank.

So let’s say my site has a D.A of 17 and yet Facebook will have a D.A of 100.

It’s a really useful tool to see how your competitors are performing and also for link-building as you can find sites with a similar D.A to yours.
