How To Triple Engagement With Twitter Polls

We recently started to run a few Twitter polls and were astounded by the results!

Usually, we get a quite a few likes or retweets in the day, but then even content that worked for you previously may not work the week after and that’s why we found the so useful!

So here are some quick tips on how to create a Twitter poll!

First of all, go to the trending topics of the day and try to find something that may work in your niche. We’re looking for trending topics as these are what are currently being talked about and can give you a much bigger reach, however you can simply create one without using a trending hashtag.

So in the above post, we can see that the Grammys is currently trending. Now the trick is to work this around your niche. So maybe you work in fashion or beauty and you can link this trending hashtag to your brand. A good example would be, ‘what’s your favourite brand of red lipstick, MAC, Rimmel etc.’

So remember to add;

  • Emojis – We all know imaged can double our engagement but in this case, we cannot use one so try using a couple of fun emojis to make your poll standout!
  • Remember to add the trending hashtag!
  • Also, add hashtags for the brands themselves and also other fan pages. It is likely fan pages will retweet your post and this could lead to much more engagement!
  • Make it fun! Topics on popular culture and T.V shows seem to do the best so use your wit to twist this to work for you and your brand!

Ok guys, this was just a quick post on how well polls have worked for us. Good luck and enjoy!

3 Effective Tips To Target Your Twitter Audience

Twitter for me, is still one of the best ways to actively engage one on one with my desired audience base. In fact, it has provided more partnership opportunities and PR than any B2B methods I would use on Linkedin.

And it’s STILL growing, 11% this quarter in fact.

So what are my 3 top tips I use for my clients to effectively engage?

Competitors

Write down a list of your top 5 competitors. Now the aim is to find them on Twitter and view their active followers. If we are looking for customers in this case and your target market is the U.K, create a Twitter list and add all the potential customers based in the UK. You can then spend around 10 minutes a day scrolling down this list, liking and engaging with your future potential customers.

Influencer Feeds

I come across so many Twitter accounts that either over promote their services on a daily basis, or post material completely unrelated to their niche. Your aim here is to find the top 5 influencers in your niche. Once again, find them on Twitter and create a special Twitter list the sole purpose being to share their content onto your feed. Remember to mix roughly 80% informative posts with 20% promotional.

Triberr

I’ve been keeping this one a secret for a while now and it’s thanks to triberr, my dismal 6,500 reach on Twitter snowballed into a reach of over 20 million!

But how?

Triberr is a social network for bloggers. The idea is to find other bloggers who write about the same topics. These writers group up in a tribe.

Whenever one blogger writes a post, the others read, comment and share it with their social networks.

The best part is, you pool together all your followers giving yourself a larger reach. So the more tribes you join, the larger your social media reach.

But what if I don’t want to share the content?

I was in multiple triberr groups for nearly a year, and at least 4 months went by without me sharing a post – mainly due to being overloaded promoting our own content and promotions.

Surprisingly, my reach only dropped by around 1 million, and seeing as I had a reach of over 20 million, it was a small loss. Also, for that whole period of time, my posts were STILL being shared on social media.

How do I set it up?

You can add the Tribber plugin to your WordPress site and connect it so that every blog post you create is automatically shared into the Triberr feed, allwoing your tribe members to share your content.

You may also schedule your favourite bloggers posts to appear in your Twitter feed. This can save you hours or scheduling interesting, up to date relevant content!

Facebook groups have provided a tremendous source of traffic to my website and account for at LEAST 70% of it.

The thing I love about Facebook groups is the ability to market to targeted groups in specific locations. The London startup facebook group, for example, has over 100,000 founders and entrepreneurs – My perfect target market.

Facebook has also become my go-to place to network with potential clients and to find future networking events in my local area.

There are just a few rules you should adhere too, there is nothing worse than all your hard work going to waste and your connections annihilated because you have not taken into consideration the group rules and are booted out!

  • Some Facebook groups for businesses will freely allow you to market to your target audience on a daily basis
  • Others may have a strict no links ban but allow you to promote your website on a certain day
  • I can almost guarantee you will see your competitors on there, keep it classy!
  • Keep in the admin’s good books by commenting on a post or two a day, it means that your posts will more likely be published to the group.
