Are You Running A Tight Ship?

Whatever it is that you are doing with your business, chances are you need to make sure that you are running it relatively strictly. There are many styles of business, of course, and not everyone will feel this way. But if you look at the statistics, it seems the case that those who run their business in this kind of overseeing manner will find it much easier to achieve the goals they have in mind, whatever those might be. But the question then is how to exactly make sure that you are running a tight ship in this way. In this article, we are going to look at just a few of the things which might aid you in adopting this particular kind of management process.

Keeping Records

One of the most important aspects of the whole thing is to ensure that you are keeping records which are as strictly kept as possible. If you are not doing this, then you can’t even begin to hope to have the kind of control of your business that you are hoping to have. If you don’t know what you have spent, what on, and when, you can’t’ really expect to make the kinds of changes necessary to reel in the spending and run your business more succinctly. You might feel that it is necessary to find some help with this process, and it is true that that can help greatly. For that reason, it can be hugely beneficial to hire some professional bookkeeping services, as they will be able to keep those records professionally and securely, so that you can know exactly where you stand at all times.

Cracking The Whip

Maybe part of the problem in your business is to do with the people. It can be hard to make sure that everyone in your employ is working to their fullest, and that you are getting as much out of them as you would like to. But when this is not happening, it can quickly and easily lead to further problems down the line, not to mention a severe lack of control over the processes within your company. The solution, to put it bluntly, is to crack the whip once in a while. If you find that your employees are not working to their fullest, inspire them with both praise and punishment where necessary, and consider re-training if it comes to that point. As long as you have a good control over the people, the business will work out as best as you can hope.

Knowing What You Want

Finally, it helps to actually be fully aware of what you want in the first place. If you are not entirely sure of what you want to be achieving in your business, then you can’t easily or readily expect to make it happen as surely. Knowing what you want is hugely important if you want to run your business as a tight ship, and so it might be worth sitting down and literary writing out on paper what you expect to happen and by what time. This alone will inspire you.

Creating A User Friendly Experience

When it comes to running a business in the modern world, there’s a good chance you’re doing so entirely online, or via a mixture of online and offline methods. And that’s fantastic; the amount of outreach you can get from simply having a brand name on the world wide web alone can reach farther corners of the market than any physical location trying to carry the whole weight of the company on its back. So your website needs to be top notch, and its usability needs to be accessible to all. Here’s some tips to making sure your interface is easy to navigate and secure enough to put payments through.

Display Information Clearly

Don’t make anything hard to find, as if someone has to search through pages and pages of your quality content to find what they’re looking for they’re likely to give up at the third hurdle. You need to be convenient, always remember that. So make sure everything you need a potential customer to know is displayed clearly, and have tags set up for them to navigate immediately to all the different sections of your site.

If you have a logo, and chances are you do if you’re championing your own brand, put this in the top left corner of the homepage for people to make eye contact with immediately when they log on. A lot of research has found this is where people like to lay their eyes when they find a new website (hey, it’s right near the back button on the search engine…), so catch people’s attention with something colourful and proud to get them to stay for a bit longer.

Allow People to Contact You Digitally

If someone has to pick up the phone to have a query answered, there’s a good chance they’re not going to bother. Similarly, a lot of people don’t like having to have a real time conversation, or they simply don’t have the time to stay on the phone. So make sure you have a contact form they can fill in and send off to you.

At the same time, make sure you have an FAQ page for people to check first before sending through a query. It’s time saving and means you can run your business a little more efficiently.

Go Through a Professional

If you don’t know the first thing about coding in a contact form, or you’re moving out of using a CMS and branching out on your own, it might be a good idea to hire a webmaster, such as Compose Agency. It can be an investment, but it’s always a worthy one. A lot of big time brands and people who have ideas for their digitally coded program don’t have the means or the knowhow to set up websites and apps by themselves, so there’s no harm in it.

A user friendly experience means something different to everyone, but you can be quite general in what you need to set up. Follow these tips.

3 FREE Apps To Manage Your Social Media!

I’m a big fan of any app that can help me to manage multiple social media accounts, and especially if they are free!

I’ve been testing out a few Apps the last year and here are my top four to manage your social media accounts!

3 FREE Apps To Manage Your Social Media

Post Apphi – Starting with my favourite first, this is an App that lets you schedule your Instagram posts. I’ve come across a few apps in the past that were meant to be schedulers however, they would sen me a reminder to post the Instagram pic when rather than do it automatically so no really a scheduler at all!

Post Apphi also allows you to see the layout in grid format of all your future posts so you can move them around until you get it right, then schedule it!

It used to be completely free but now you are allowed 10 free post schedules a month and you will have to pay to get extra ones. If you are a small business that does not post everyday like me, the free option should fit you perfectly.

Followers Assistant – It’s always better to have a few hundred followers than who you are following on your Instagram and this is where this handy free Iapp comes in!

Followers Assistant will search through your entire following in a matter of minutes and then tell you how many are unfollowing you. Best of all, it allows you to unfollow them in bulk of up to 200 at a time so you can just sit back while the App does the work!

It also allows you to see who you are not following and who RECENTLY unfollowed you.

Followers + – This is a really handy Twitter tool to see who has unfollowed you and also to unfollow them all.

A really handy tool that allows you to unfollow your unfollows with a tap of a button. I usually aim for around 50 every few days.

You can also upgrade and manage multiple accounts at once.
