How to Create the perfect Infographic – FREE templates!

I’ve always been slightly obsessed with Infographics.

It helps that infographics are 3 x more likely to be shared on social media account than any other type of content!

Add to this that it’s now possible for your website visitors to share your infographic on to their websites creating much-needed deep links! ( Covered in my next post )

So let’s take a look at how to create a simple yet shareable infographic!

First of all, create a canva account.

Once you have created an account, click on ‘Infographic’.

You will now be offered the choice of free infographic templates in the left-hand column which you can amend yourself! Remember, if they have a $ sign, then you will need to sign up to Canva to receive the full benefits.

You can edit your infographic simple by clicking on either Text, elements or background.

To change colour, simply click on the background tab and then click on the infographic box you wish to amend. You can click on the colour box above the infographic and pick a new colour from the colour wheel or choose one of the colours already listed.

Choosing from the colour wheel.

Let’s have a look at the elements section. You have some brilliant options here! You can upload a photo into one of the infographics sections, change the icons and even add charts for your own data!

Just click on an option and then scroll down to choose.

To save time you can also add the keywords in the search bar to find the image you would like. I have entered in ‘Laptop’ in this example.

Once again you are offered free images and icons or you can upgrade to use them all.

Lastly, let’s quickly cover the Text section.

What I love most about the text section is there are already text templates to choose from! You can then also change the font colour, size, and style!

Another great aspect of the free canva version is you can even add team members so they can view your creation and edit it if needs be. You simply click on the share tab above the infographic and then type in the persons email address!

Ready to download your creation? Simply click on the download tab and choose which type of file you wish to download so JPEG etc.

Lastly, once downloaded, all your edited creations will automatically be saved and you can go back in and change them again! I love this as I can add my branding and website URL and then simply change the text and colour!

Ok, so that was a quick rundown! Any questions or if you need help creating your own just contact me!

How To Make Your Home Business Work For You

Working from home provides a lot of freedom for many people, especially if they have other commitments like young children, pets, or even other family members to take care of. Thanks to the use of the internet, it’s now easier than ever to run a business from the comfort of your living room. In this article is going to be some tips on how you can make your home business work for you without losing steam, clients and more importantly, money.

Make an office

The first thing that you should be doing is creating an office for you to work in because it can be easy to become distracted by the television or anyone else around the house. Even if you don’t have a particular room that you could use, a simple corner of a room with a desk and everything you need will suffice. More importantly, it will give you a space to store everything that you need to do with work. You can buy office equipment fairly cheap if you shop around and before you know it you will have a professional home office to run your business from.

Have your website professionally designed

If the majority of your business is online, it’s important to have a website that’s professional looking because potential clients may turn away if your website looks like it’s been quickly thrown together. Hire some web development geniuses to do all of the work for you so that you don’t have to worry, and can concentrate on other aspects of your business. Let’s face it, a smarter looking website makes you look more trustworthy, and more trustworthy will lead to more clients. Kerching!

List your address and phone number in easy and convenient places

Make it as easy as possible for potential clients to get hold of you at any given notice. This is a good idea if you’re starting up too, as you’ll be wanting to take on as much work as possible! Make sure you have a contact page on your website, and with any social media platform that you use make sure it’s easy for people to get in contact with you!

Another great idea is to get some business cards made to hand out at networking events and to keep on you incase you meet someone who is interested in your services!

Learn social media algorithms

Finally, learning the social media algorithms will totally go in your favour because you will know when to post, and what to post at all times. Each social media platform is different, so take the time to get to know each one. You may find that certain platforms work better for your business too, so make sure that you track your followers and clicks to keep an eye on which one is the best to use.

Use these four ideas within your home business and make the smooth running of each day that little bit easier on yourself. Business doesn’t have to be as hard as it’s made out to be!

Office Moving Checklist for Busy Managers

Whether you will need to move your business to relocate to a new area, or you are expanding, you need to make sure that you reduce the distractions and complete the transition as soon as possible. There are certain important things you need to take care of before the movers come and everything gets packed and shifted to the new location. Below you will find a few tips on how to take care of crucial tasks when your company moves to new premises.

Letterheads and Stationery

You must get rid of all the old stationery and order the new ones before you move to the new location. You don’t want your customers to look for you at the old address. Make sure you talk to your web developer to get your business information updated on your website and different directories. This way, you can make sure that your suppliers and potential customers are able to find you.

Tax Registration and Accounts

Updating your business information on your incorporation and taxation documents and registration should be one of your priority tasks. You can get a penalty if you fail to notify the tax office about your move, and if you don’t get reminders because you moved, you can only blame yourself. Get in touch with a corporate accountant or attorney to find out what the simplest and fastest way of updating your company address is.

Letting Customers Know

If you have an email ist, you could send out an update about the move, but don’t rely on this form of communication alone. You might want to send letters on the post, and call your most important and largest clients, making them aware of your new location. Get a notice put on your website by your web developer about your move telling customers and visitors about the date and linking to Google Maps, showing your new offices.

Arranging Insurance

It is important that you arrange the insurance for the new business property as soon as possible. Get quotes and compare the different levels of cover, to make sure that the policy suits your business needs. If you are using shipping container transport to deliver your office equipment and furniture, make sure that the company offers insurance for the freight, loading, and unloading.

Remote Working Arrangements for Employees

To make everything go smoothly, you can get your employees to work from home remotely while the office is being relocated. This way, you can keep answering phone calls and online queries, so you don’t lose customers or have to deal with excess workload once you have moved into your shiny new offices.

While arranging transportation and managing employees is important when you move your business to a new property, you must take care of the above tasks first, to ensure everything goes smoothly, and you can get back to normal operation as soon as possible, without your customers trying to get hold of you without knowing your new address and contact details.
