Yes, it IS possible to double your traffic without relying on Adwords, Facebook or Twitter ads. I know because I’ve done it. I managed to double my last clients traffic within 6 months. It takes at least 2 – 3 hours a week but the results speak for themselves. An increase in organic leads by 70% for one!
So here are my top 3 tips to greatly increase your organic traffic and improve your google search rankings.
I can already hear the groans…… yes, it can be time consuming, but to start with you only really need to be posting twice a week, and each post can be UNDER 500 words.
Creating a business blog for my last client was the SOLE reason we increased our traffic so dramatically, and even doubled our preferred London audience base.
But WHAT content should you be posting?
Our self promotional posts on a new service we were offering became our least viewed post in our blog archive. What DID work was creating posts that educated and informed our target audience. For example;
A shop selling trainers may promote their latest range of running shoes. But what about creating a post on ‘Why your running technique is costing you 10 minutes in every race?’ and then feature your product at the end?
I know which one I would click if I was a running enthusiast.
Ideally we want to try to use the 80% educational, 20% promotional split in our weekly blog posts.
A whopping 77% of internet users read blog posts. If your blog posts are targeted at the relevant market and your blog post is HELPFUL, then it’s likely after a week or two the reader will subscribe to your blog post if you continue to churn out interesting and helpful content.
Why are subscribers so important?
Subscribers will leave their email address. This is the first step in the sales funnel and a warm lead. You can then work on converting them into a future sale with your blog posts, and a monthly newsletter that will give them a great offer on your product or services.
But you WON’T be able to do this if you do not post consistently.
Aim to post 2 times a week, Monday and Wednesdays to start with. You can always increase this to an infographic on Friday in time as they are fairly simple to put together thanks to the templates you can find on Canva.
I’ve been keeping this one a secret for a while now but it’s thanks to triberr that my dismal 6,500 reach on Twitter snowballed into a reach of over 20 million!
Triberr is a social network for bloggers. The idea is to find other bloggers who write about the same topics. These writers group up in a tribe.
When a blogger posts a new blog post on their website, the blog will feed into the triberr group giving other bloggers the choice to share it to all their followers, thus expanding your reach.
So the more tribes you join, the larger your social media reach.
How do I set it up?
You can add the Tribber plugin to your WordPress site and connect it so that every blog post you create is automatically shared into the Triberr feed, allwoing your tribe members to share your content.
You may also schedule your favourite bloggers posts to appear in your Twitter feed. This can save you hours or scheduling interesting, up to date relevant content!
Ok, so here are 3 simple tips to get you on your way WITHOUT paid adds.
But is your startup just taking to much up of your time, and you don’t have the time to create blog posts?
EVEN if you are aware how valuable it is?
